I just started a new book and I found this fantastic quote by Jack Kornfield that I wanted to share.
"It is possible to speak with our heart directly. Most ancient cultures know this. We can actually converse with our heart as if it were a good friend. In modern life we have become so busy with our daily affairs and thoughts that we have lost this essential art of taking time to coverse with our hearts."
Here is a lovely doodle by ILOVEDOODLE . I just can't get enough of Ling's work. My room will soon by covered by these prints and she makes me want to sketch desperately. Actually thinking about it now, I think I very well may do that. Thanks Ling and I am so taking the advice Jack.
We need to keep justifying the purchase of the iPad with blog posts. Work travel has us going back and forth to Philly quite often which equals a lot of car hours logged on the New Jersey turnpike. Soooo, we had an idea of playing a little "I SPY" on New Jersey design / ads with billboards, car decals, lcc logos, grafitti, and anything else that grabs our attention. Our first feature of the I spy series is the "Mexico" identity we spied on a digital billboard. The neon colors grabbed our attention immediately. We thought it was a bit odd for the color pallette of Mexico. The brights are usually reserved for the carribean travel and beaches. But maybe that is what the designer was going for. The messaging didn't support Mexico as the destination spot for beaches. We do like the bold type with the palette though. Tough to make out the graphics inside the letters when we viewed it on the Billboard. They don't really take away or add anything to the piece when driving 65.
Originality and craftsmanship is starting to build some momentum the in beer industry. Big industry behemoths like Budweiser are getting picked niche by niche from small brewers that offer a far better taste/quality, and items that are starting to look a hell of a lot better in your hand. With our ventures in Colorado, family in Philly, and working in the NYC area, we have been really lucky to taste and see some great gems. Below are some brewers that are putting just as much time behind their identity as they are with their hops. Cheers to them!

We are trying to point out all the design trends the Hoboken Community needs to start following. So whether your a small business looking for a logo here or there, or a big company not knowing where to turn for advertising, guide your ears/eyes this way. We are going to chirping at the crack of dawn, day in and day out.
Vibrant color with a nice serif all in lowercase. Our commute has been taking us into the city lately around 20th and Broadway in NYC. Wichcraft has a nice open shop with a giant black banner hanging off a flag pole with the word "dinner" in this serif font. Very nice indeed and extremely inviting. I find NYC is littered with in your face/ignorant deli experiences. Wichcraft is inviiting every morning with such a great design.
