Always love to check in on the latest and greatest happenings of Milton Glaser. Found this gem about Milton's idea that design has nothing to do with appearance. He is still dominating into his late 80's which I am so happy to see and we are so fortunate to have. Below is a segment about the evolution of design in his eyes.
A couple things here. Very bummed they have no showings in NYC but so stoked this is happening.

I likey! Digital T worked under the lead designer on the project awhile back. Rockin Mikey! Padres still suck though.
London subway map gets a redo, nice!
Originality and craftsmanship is starting to build some momentum the in beer industry. Big industry behemoths like Budweiser are getting picked niche by niche from small brewers that offer a far better taste/quality, and items that are starting to look a hell of a lot better in your hand. With our ventures in Colorado, family in Philly, and working in the NYC area, we have been really lucky to taste and see some great gems. Below are some brewers that are putting just as much time behind their identity as they are with their hops. Cheers to them!
Digital Tchotchke made our way down the turnpike for the Easter Holiday. It is a Ukranian tradition to dye Easter Eggs. This isn't your CVS dye kit we are talking about either, it was a process. A ton of time melting wax, laying out the design, dying the egg, waiting 30 and repeating 3 - 5 times. You talk about Photoshop layers being crazy, this is another level. Below are some images of a talented Ukranian design. Unfortanetly, our designs were too great to be shown (they were a mess). Here is a site with some design chops for Ukranian eggs.
Digital Tchotchke also caught a snapshot of our beloved babushka dolls sporting the DT look on Easter.
Digital Tchotchke is giddy with anticipation to see Milton Glaser at the Society of Illustrators tonight! We will be tweeting before and after the event (not during, because that is just so not cool). Also keep an eye out for some video that we plan to grab. Damn that ascot looks hot! Go on with your bad self Mr.Glaser.

Vancouver is hosting Design Week in Canada April 26th to the 30th. The theme of of the show is "Design Currency". We are really loving the idea behind it and the bold statement, Defining the Value of Design. It is one of the hardest things to do when estimating a job or explaining the need of design service to a perspective client. We have crossed many paths that believe they don't need an identity or face to their product/brand. And we have also met the response that they could handle it themselves. Our response is simple, get a white piece of paper out with a No.2 and start making it happen right now. Being confronted with the task is harder than saying you can do it without any action.
Nice work on the video Vancouver and good luck with the show!
