The Hoboken "Clam Broth House" sign is an instant landmark upon entering and departing the path. In the constant buzz of rush hour traffic and pedestrians flocking from the path to get home, we can't help but look up at the sign and smile. The "hand of broth" guides the way to enlightenment. The sign has a vintage aura about it. You can't beat old school typography and recognizable graphics.
We did a little research and found that the sign isn't from the actual Clam Broth House which was erected in 1899. That building was demolished in 2003 due to decay. The building did have a sign just like this, but it pointed down towards it's doors. The sign that still stands was installed to guide foot traffic to the decaying building. How about those clams.
